COMMUNITY PROGRAMS
Partners Ending Homelessness' Community Engagement and Outreach Department is committed to community collaborations and steadfast advocacy that drive lasting change. We advance our mission by connecting Guilford County residents experiencing homelessness with essential services, exploring innovative approaches to community wellness, and cultivating vibrant, thriving neighborhoods. Through strategic outreach and partnerships, we examine the vital intersections of homelessness and healthcare, while our landlord engagement initiatives promote inclusive housing solutions and build bridges to stable, supportive homes. These initiatives were launched in 2024 with the support of The Foundation For A Healthy High Point and the Cone Health Foundation.

HEALTHCARE SERVICES PILOT PROGRAM:
Within this pilot program, we have developed initiatives to better understand and respond to the gaps and barriers individuals experiencing homelessness face when accessing healthcare services. One of our cornerstone initiatives is the Healthcare and Homelessness Committee, which has brought together representatives from healthcare-related organizations across Guilford County. This committee meets regularly to share insights, identify emerging trends, and discuss challenges observed in their work with people experiencing homelessness.

We have utilized these conversations to inform a Community Health Assessment that is focused on uncovering systemic challenges and identifying actionable solutions to improve healthcare access. We have also utilized the conversations had during the committee meetings to inform the Shifting Narratives: Igniting High Point to End Homelessness summit. This summit brings individuals with lived experience, healthcare professionals, service providers, community leaders, and advocates. The summit aims to foster collaboration, elevate innovative approaches, and drive meaningful change.

We are excited to continue advancing this pilot program and remain committed to improving healthcare accessibility for our neighbors experiencing homelessness in Guilford County. If you are interested in learning more about this initiative, please email us.

LANDLORD ENGAGEMENT PILOT PROGRAM:
This program is an initiative designed to build meaningful, solution-focused partnerships with local landlords in High Point, North Carolina.

The Landlord Engagement pilot program aims to create a space where landlords can share their experiences, concerns, and ideas related to housing access. By prioritizing landlord outreach, the program seeks to foster trust, address misconceptions, and identify practical strategies for expanding affordable housing options. Within this pilot program, we hope to strengthen tenant/landlord relationships and reduce barriers that contribute to housing instability.

To kick off this effort, Partners Ending Homelessness will begin hosting Coffee and Conversation events in November 2025. This will be a series of informal gatherings that provide a welcoming, neutral environment for landlords to discuss challenges and collaborate on community-focused solutions.

We are excited to launch this pilot and invite local landlords in the High Point area to contact us to learn more.
